I was excited about Kourtney & Mark’s Asheville elopement from the second I got their first e-mail. We originally were going to have their ceremony in a hot air balloon at sunrise, but harsh winds made that impossible. Instead, we hiked up a pinnacle hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway and were met with very dense fog….my favorite!! By the end of portraits we did on top of the mountain, we were all soaked and chilly, but it was so worth it. From there, we had a breakfast at 5 Points Restaurant in Asheville and then onto their intimate ceremony at the botanical gardens. I had a great time wandering with these two as well as photographing their reception with friends and family held a couple of weeks later.
Thank you to Kourtney for this review:
“Abby Saves the Day! We were thrilled to have Abby agree (and be stoked) to photograph our hot air balloon elopement in Asheville, NC. The night before, it got cancelled due to fog and wind… Abby immediately helped us redirect the plan and had already scoped out an awesome spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway to take what turned out to be amazing photos before our ceremony in the Asheville Botanical Gardens. She was full of ideas, all of which lead to beautiful photos of our day that we will cherish forever! We are her biggest fans! She’s enthusiastic, brave, willing to hike before sunrise in the wind and fog, creative, and talented. We hope she’s still adventuring with us on our 50th wedding anniversary and everything in between!”
